I have the Dream also. I've used it a lot this summer on very long rides as we've often been in places where water stops are scarce. I only use it for water and also carry two bottles, one with water and one with Perpetuem.

I like the Dream because I can also put my extra drink mix powder, phone, extra flask of gel, extra Ibuprofen, extra Endurolytes, etc. in it. Of course when I wear it the racer boys won't even look my direction.

Oh, and I wouldn't cut the tube because I snake it under my arm and clip it onto the strap so that the mouthpiece is pointing up at my mouth. Very easy to drink out of that way and no extra tube flapping around.

I too have purchased the dream this year and love it. I rarely use it for water but use it all the time for the "extras" that may not fit in our back pockets. What is great is you have the option to pack more water. I ride a lot in the rural areas and stops are 30-40 miles apart. I love that you really don't notice it is there. It's not too hot to wear either. Hope you enjoy yours as much. I found Nashbar really has the best prices. Much cheaper than the local bike stores.

I'm such a klutz, I had a hard time reaching and drinking for the bottle. I also didn't like anything on my shoulders, since I was prone to upper back knots. So I got a small joggers camelback that just goes around my waist. I love it! I also have a tendency to take alot of little sips. It holds the same as 1 large water bottle. The places I ride, I can usually refill every 20-25 miles, when I need to. If they don't have potable water (RH Phillips Winery, for instance) I'll throw an extra bottle into my rack trunk. I do want to put a cage and bottle on my bike though. An energy drink would really be nice, and I can always pull over when I need that!

I don't have this specific one, mine is one size smaller and pink. I LOVE it
At the top of a hill I'm not reaching for a water bottle but can just pop the valve in my mouth and drink on the downhill without losing my cadence or speed.

I too find I drink way more water with the camelback than just with water bottles. I always take it if I am going more than 25 miles

I have 2 water bottles and cages that I fill as back up, we don't always have some place to stop for water.

I only put water in my CB and energy drink in the WB as I can't imagine cleaning sticky goo out of the tubing

And everyone is right - Ice and water in the CB on a hot day ahhhh

    I have this one:
    http://www.rei.com/online/store/Prod...cat=REI_SEARCH
I've biked without it, but found that I drink too little when drinking involves stopping to pull a bottle out, or pulling it out while riding (makes me a bit nervous). I put plain water in the pack and rehydration mix in a couple of bottles, drinking from those whenever I stop. That seams to work fine. And the pack has space for me to stuff in my arm warmers, sweater etc. as the day warms up, rain gear in case those clouds burst, camera, a couple of energy bars ... that kind of stuff.
Half-marathon over. Sabbatical year over. It's back to "sacking shirt and oat cakes" as they say here.
