Knotted- I know. it drives me crazy. Especially since something always *has* to happen/come up/go wrong those two days.
Nanci- I do like lambecs, but sometimes they're not sweet enough for me. No experience with the other...
CWR- I'm not sure that DPITA would be okay with you pimping me, but if that's what you think is best...
Got apps in to Pacific U.'s Arts Dept. I'm excited. That would be an awesome job...

    long post-

De do de do..*wanders in* Oh hello there...This is the "how long can a post be post"?

I've been attempting to keep track of what's going on.... SO much happens while i'm at work or asleep...the joys of time zones hey!

Anywho, I have a story....Please don't take this the wrong way ladies k...

I was at my favorite cafe this morning ordering my regular coffee & there was this large dude looking at the menu...He was SO loud & rather rude I thought to the 2 cool chicks( claire & steph) & dude (brayden) that run the place..I just had to ask him whee he was from as I thought he may have been American...He said "YEAH, I"m FRUM TALAHASSEE FLORIDA"...errrr ok..end of conversation...He complained that the cafe didn't have pancakes (noone does here really) and WHO eats BAKED BEANS for breakfast...What a complete freak...I had to tell claire "i'm really sorry you have to put up with americans like that...however you have a regular like me from a friendlier place up north". Rant over & I have no idea how i find all the LOUD americans who don't seem to get it...

    Right...
I went for a ride tonight in the hopes of finding headwind...Well i got a bit more than I bargained for..Headwind, tailwind, sidewind & salt on my glasses..I rode down to the fremantle area via the train line that runs beside the beach...I have no idea how to judge how well the ride went. All i can say is Woeeeeee..sidewinds!!!! Freaky at 30km/hr downhill with cars next to me! It woke me up!!!

Ian and I are putting an offer on a house tomorrow night..We've been looking and man are there some nice places just WAY WAY too big...One place we looked at on the weekend was ok inside for space but we could have built a mtn bike skills course in the backyard...!!!!! No thanks, too big & too much maintenance..We'd rather bike on the weekends....
If you want to see the place we like: http://www.realestate.com.au/cgi-bin...&ag=&cu=fn-rea
Not sure if that will work???

Back later kids. Kitsune-be careful when you work late...Do you work far from home & do you bike to work???

Fish"-does fishjr wear a uniform to school? Kids in the US & Canada should be happy...Kids here HAVE to wear uniforms...I remember our jr high & high school having the "uniform" debates..

probably belongs in "Dear So & So" ;-)

    crazycanuck,

I'm sorry you had to put up with "my fellow American".

Please tell the two cool chicks and dude for us that not all Floridians are like that, Nanci for example.

Note to loud dude, let me connect the small dots for you. It's called travel. That's why we go. The goal is to see different things, experience stuff stuff, meet cool people and BROADEN our tiny little mind.

Dude, you've spent too much time in Disneyland where it's "International area" and "It's a Small World After All". The world is not like that (French like facade, see show, get a happy meal).

If you want to eat the same stuff each day...stay home...puhleeeze.

While I was wandering around in NZ I occaisionally ran across other Americans. Obvious ones, anyway. I avoided them when I could. They were embarrassing.

Luckily for me, I sounded Canadian. No-one ever guessed. Oh, and I was polite, which is NOT what was expected or noticed.

Yup, us polite ones fade into the background.

Berkeley, not far. Is that tall? His Mom's short but Dad's reasonably tall. And they both bike a bit so he's already got the "future cyclist" outfit from Terry from great Aunt

Yep, for his weight, that's a pretty long baby. How wonderful that you'll get to be around him as he grows up.

I work about 10mi from home, but wouldn't bike there for my life. To get there, I'd have to go through neighborhoods I don't especially trust in the daytime. Drivers are terrible here, if they were ever officially licensed in this country, and/or have insurance so if I ever DID get hit, I could put my money on it being a hit and run. so... no way. Even driving I get nervous, because I can't go home at night without seeing at least one cop car with his lights on.

    ...and it's a small town!

Anyone in hillsboro/Forest Grove might understant my sentiments...
