Does cycling make you feel obsessed with shopping? -YES!!!

It does me!!! I forgot when I went to a regular store with so much excitement as when I go to LBS. What is it? - some kind of virus that got into me? or the mini shopping devil on my left shoulder killed the rational savy angel on my right one?

I surely don't owe 100 pairs of shorts and jerseys but sometimes I feel like all I do is shop for cycling gear

I know what you mean. I only have 2 "outfits" yet feel as though I am shopping all the time. Probably because I am. Since I began with nothing, I have needed everything. The interesting thing is, I hate shopping, except when it comes to shopping for bicycling items.

I hear ya! I'm more inclined to spend $60 or more on cycling shorts but I can't imagine spending $20 on a pair of jeans. A new bike bag--yay! A new purse--ugh. Fun, colorful, new bike tape with new matching yellow tires-- woo-hoo! Dress shoes for work--do I have to?????

ditto for me....I am so not a shopper. The big conversation with my friends on the train this week was the amount of clothes they gave away to charity recently with tags on them. One said it had to be about $1000.00. And the shoe fetich so many people seem to have. I hate shopping for clothes, shoes, etc. But cycling stuff.....that is a whole other story....I just love it!!!!

Yeah, me too. I get tired of my clothes but it's too much work to replace them. No one here cares anyway.
But did I tell you about the new bike shorts I'm getting?

OMG, me too! I normally hate shopping but now I have to stop in to every bike shop I drive past. Can't wait to go to Vancouver and Victoria in a week - there must be a dozen good bike shops there!!!

I'm glad I'm not alone! I'm not a "normal" woman as I really hate shopping- except for bike stuff. I spend countless hours on e-bay and online looking for great cycling stuff. It's a terrible hobby- but luckily one my DH doesn't complain (too much) about.

Shopping for sport stuff is a disease. I own more cycling and tennis outfits than anything else. I just bought two new tennis outfits and shoes, and new Assos bibs. Oh I so looking forward to trying them on. They are still in transit. I would go to a store to buy a shirt or shoes that I actually need and leave with nothing. But if I go online for the sport stuff, always find something that I cannot live without. It is tough!

Definitely. Just when I think I'm fully outfitted and geared, I think of something else I need to buy.

Yes, of course, I am right there with you. We have been to the local LBS more in the last 3 weeks than I have been to Wal-mart and I am having to get ready for back to school.
Plus I am online all the time looking at stuff. Ecspecially that bike bag that I fell in love with. Someone posted the picture, I don't remember who at the moment, but I fell in love. I want that bike bag so bad, but cannot justify the money right now.
Guess it will have to go on a christmas list. LOL

i have more cycling and running stuff than i do normal clothes. the thing is i need to buy normal clothes but hate it.

(then again i wear a uniform to work so its not that big of a deal, no social life here or dressing up so that helps, guess i'll buy more gear for working out then. )

i like buying cycling and running stuff just because it fits better than normal everyday wear. workout gear is made for people that have muscles, normal clothes aren't. if only the two would combine forces.....
