I love my new gloves!

I am so excited! I think I found a good pair of gloves that will work for me. I purchased a pair of the Pearl Izumi Women's Gel-Lite gloves from my LBS for $35.99. The price was a bit steep for me, but I am very impressed so far after only one ride. They fit very well (like a glove...ha ha ha).

I have had problems with gloves fitting my small paws in the past. Also, they provide a good amount of wrist support while still allowing you to be flexible. It also seems like they are padded in the right areas (I still need to test that on longer rides, but I am also in the process of getting used to my new road bike).

Has anyone else had good luck with the Gel-Lites? It's funny I used the Pearl Izumi White Line gloves before and just found them to be too stretched out after a while and not enough padding or the padding wasn't in the right places for me. Hmmm....

I have been using those same gloves for 6 mo now and continue to love them. I agree that they are well worth the investment.

I got the PI gel lites too, but I got a men's medium. I love them, but they're just the teensiest bit too big for me, so I get callouses (sometimes painful) on my thumbs. But the women's were all too small, as was the men's small. Sigh.

I wore these yesterday for 20 miles of mtbing & was really happy with them.

I had a pair of (don't remember the brand...) gel gloves last year that I really liked at first. The whole palm was one big gel pad. By the end of the season, the gel on my left glove had permantently squished over to the outside of the palm.

A few weeks ago I tried on the PIs and thought they wouldn't work for me, because it didn't seem like the padding was in the right place. I gave them a try anyway and I love them! Having the fastener on the underside of the wrist seems kind of strange - I keep trying to put my gloves on the wrong hand because of that.

I love 'em! I have extra small paws, even for 5'1" and the PI are the only ones that don't feel like they'll fall off, the only gloves I've found in womens XS, padding is fine, it doesn't "lump" like other gloves, used 'em on the AIDS ride, my hands never hurt! held up well too.

I've tried Specialised including the "Gel Blob" don't like them as much, my Specialised don't have the velcro "flap" or strap at the wrist. Makes them harder to take on and off and I like having the Velcro wrist strap because in a pinch you can wrap it around your fork and a spoke for a teeny tiny bike lock.

As for the price, now that you like them the best price on the PI (you also should check TE) but barring TE try Campmor. Their website has the best price on the TI Gel lite.

When you find a cycling-related product that you lo~~ve, you might consider buying a few extras. The manufacturers of cycling stuff notoriously "improve" their products, and I find I don't always like the "improved" version. I wear size XS 2002 Fox Sierra gloves for mountain biking. I didn't like the 2003's, and the 2004's are worse! So I bought 4 pairs of the 2002's in a close-out.

Good idea, Adventure Girl! I am thinking if they continue to work out well, I am going to order at least another pair. Mine are the 2004 model, so before the year ends I am definitely going to buy a pair of them.

BTW, Adventure Girl, I also wear an XS (or XXS) in the Fox Gloves for mtn. biking...I think mine are the good 'ol Sidewinders though and they are from 1997...still as good as when I bought them. Yay!
