To all the members of Jennys' family:
There are no words that can express the loss you all are feeling. A death like this effects not only the family but the community it occured in, and in the case of Jenny, has ripples that reach farther than can be imagined. It makes all of us aware of just how vulnerable we are each and every day, and it brings us all closer together. It was very special of you, her sister and her neice, to come on the board and talk to us. Know we've kept your family in our hearts, our thoughts and our prayers.
    Kathie
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand, strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming: "Yeah Baby! What a Ride!"

You are all in our prayers

    Dear Ashley & Jenny's sister:

I think of Jenny and your whole family every single day and you are all in my prayers. My husband and I pray for all of you when we say our prayers at night.

I am terribly sorry about this awful tragedy that took your sister's earthly body away, but I know that she will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone who loved her, and in all of those whose lives she touched.

Always remember that no one can take away the memories that you and your sister shared --that you and your aunt shared. Memories that Jenny shared with all of you! Those memories are yours for a lifetime!

I know in my heart that Jenny will be with you always -- A love as strong as the love you all shared will never, ever die!

Wishing you much comfort & peace!

    God Bless Jenny's whole family,

    Denise & Ben

    Hi there, new member

Hello there ladies. I was forwarded this email thread and forum regarding Jennifer Ewing, from a few folks (Leslie - Pedalwench), including Jenny's sister.

My name is Bernadette Boas, and am also an avid rider. (Though if many of you ride on the Sorello cycling team, I am not a racer). I did not know Jenny personally either, but I was also devastated by this tragedy. Therefore had begun on Wednesday of last week to begin planning a memorial ride with a number of the major cycling groups and mailing lists around town. The response has been amazing.
I was also awaiting contact with the Ewing family to ensure they were aware and could participate and support it.

I understand that this group may also be planning a memorial ride. So wanted to let you know of this other planning being done as well, in case we all want to join forces on this.

My current plan is to finalize a date by end of the weekend (for sometime in Sept), and to put together a memorial, safety education, and overall celebration of Jenny's life ride.

Let me know of any plans, and/or if I should add you to the lists of folks to be made aware of this ride.

Again, thanks and hope to talk to you soon
    Bernadette

    T shirts

I am hoping that the participants in the Memorial ride will consider buying t shirts that RUnning Mommy is getting printed. It would probably help if the locals (ATL) could get up a number with sizes and go directly through the printer to order. Denise has taken on a huge job by offering to get these shirts for us, so whatever we can do to take off some of the pressure would be good. Whoever is riding have a great and peaceful ride today!

    Stay safe

Yes, I spoke with Craig the owner of the company and explained that there may be large groups that would also like to order some shirts, so that he can keep the graphic on hand for others groups to order from as well. I just think it would be easier if say a large local group or cycling club Ordered direct from coolmax. I have his info at home and would be glad to pass it along.
If I were to order for everyone I think my credit card would have a melt down!
As much as I'd love to, I think it would just be better to do the orders for TE and pass on the info on ordering to the other groups.
    Thanks All!

Okay. Remove the 6 that I know of, and I'll try to handle the local Atlanta groups.

    Thanks!

I am Jenny's niece, as well, and I just wanted to thank all of you for doing this. She would be so proud that all of you have pulled together and organized something in her memory and I think she deserves it. When people pass away, everyone always talks about what a great person they were and how sad it is that they aren't here anymore but Jenny really and truly was the best of all of us. I would have told you that while she was still alive and it wouldn't have hurt anyone's feelings in our family because we all knew it. Thank you again for all you have done and we look forward to keeping in touch with you through the t-shirts and hopefully a memorial ride.

    -Maggie

"Death has been swallowed up in victory. Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting? The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain." 1 Corinthians 15:54-58
