I had an appointment with my asthma doctor today to check my lung function and update him on any problems that may have developed since my last appointment six months ago. My lung function is outstanding - I blew 500 on the peak flow meter today and they consider 350 to be normal for a person my height and age. It appears my inhalers are working (I knew that) and all the time on my bike is paying off in a big way. I've seen this guy for over 15 years now and this is the first time he has felt it was safe to go longer than 6 months between check ups. Unless I develop any problems I do not need to return for a check up until this time next year. I'm just a little bit happy at the moment.

I also climbed on the scale this morning and was pleased to see that since I started back on my Weight Watcher's diet the first of June I've dropped 9.5 pounds. I felt like I was dropping weight given how my clothes fit and the comments some friends have made recently but the number on the scale really made me feel like all my hard work was paying off.

Today was one of those days when you simply can't stop smiling, life is really good at the moment and I feel GREAT!
