First, a million thank yous to the wonderful women on this forum - you were a tremendous help in selecting my new bike and accessories. This forum is a fantastic resource and a wonderful community. I'm happy to be here.

On Friday at 5pm, I still hadn't heard from the bike shop, but I happened to be about 2 miles from the shop, so I decided to stop in. Turns out they were about 5 minutes from calling me - they were just finishing the assembly and were about to take it out on a test ride. I was so excited! And also had a brief moment of panic because I didn't bring my bike rack and I know my Crossroads doesn't fit in the back of the Jeep. But, Miss Ruby is more dainty and had no issues fitting in the Jeep - whew.

It was 95° and bad air quality on Friday evening, so no ride.

I had committed to a 5k on Saturday with my kid, and it was also hot with poor air quality in the afternoon, so no ride.

But, I got up on Sunday, sore and stiff from the 5k (that I didn't train for. at all.) and hit the trail! I had no goals, just ride and enjoy! I went 12 wonderful miles. Wow, this bike is a serious dream. My poor lungs were more pooped than my legs. I was surprisingly comfortable on the saddle, I've only ridden twice this year so far, and both of those rides were about 6 miles. I was really expecting some serious saddle soreness. No soreness so far! Ask me again tomorrow when I go for my second ride.

I am so very glad I bought this bike. It was better than I had even imagined. Biking is truly my happy place.
