The fork on my new El Mariachi 29er can be set at 80 or 100mm. We reduced it down to 80, since I don't actually *need* 100mm on our terrain. I had decent standover with 100, but it's even better at 80.

It sounds like I would win some by reducing my fork also
But I need to ride the bike a bunch of times before deciding I think. The El Mariachi is a very nice bike

It's not the custom version. We bought it from UK. It's a 15" from 2010 and we got the last one
It was on sale and the price was under 300 dollars for the frame
