There is something we can do Just take a few moment to check Craigs. Not just Seattle but surrounding areas' Portland, Yakima, Bellingham etc.

I just got back from Counterbalance and let the boys there know. Mimi and Don they send their concern and sympathy!

They have zero sympathy or tolerance for bike thieves. The wrench I spoke to said he did not think it will turn up at their shop because these scumbags know to avoid the higher end shops. Counterbalance also does not sell used bikes, or not often so they might not try there. But they posted it to their board and will let all employees know.

If they do turn up the wrench said he has not problem knocking them out (he personally trains in Jiu Jitsu). He said when obvious thieves come in they will engage them, let them know they are on to them and the crooks leave .... without the bike. The reunion process starts there.

That's what happens when people with a bike they don't know, fit or deserve come into an LBS.

He said we should scour Craigs especially the surrounding areas and to check these shops which do sell bikes:

Whistle Stop Co-op (he said they are relatively new) on Othelo and ML King
Bike Works and
Recycled Cycles (both locations).
