I camped at one end of it last summer. I'd been driving through plains for hours and hours and pulled into the campsite at around 11 pm - it was pitch black, and I could see far enough to put up the tent. I woke up the next morning in the middle of the badlands and the view was spectacular! But yeah, from what I understand, just a handful of people maintain it. It hasn't even been open for very long but the weather in that area combined with the soils doesn't really bode well for long term trail existence. Probably a better trail for horses![]()
