Almost all carbon frames for larger companies are made in Taiwan. And the Taiwanese do a great job with carbon. Their frames have way fewer problems than many.
Having said that, I'm all about trying to buy local. I have a Tonic (built in Portland) and I've just ordered a Moots (Colorado).
The US is FULL of great frame builders. Landshark is in Oregon and John Slawta has built frames for the pros. He's almost exclusively doing carbon now.
