    Bruised muscles

I had a clipless fall the other day where I bruised the side of my leg where I hit the ground - I kept hold of the bars so I wouldn't try to break my fall with my hand/wrist - I broke a wrist that way 30 years ago and haven't forgotten that lesson.

The leg doesn't look bruised, but it is sore to the touch and I feel it when I walk. It isn't the hip, it is below that point. It hurts to walk but not to ride

Given my tendency to ignore stuff I am curious if others would be riding with this. It isn't hammie nor quad - though I am unsure what muscle that actually IS. I've checked out several diagrams on the internet and it might be my IT band.

I just want to be in as good shape as I can be for my clinic next week - but I need to get out there in the heat this week and work on acclimating to it on the bike.

ED: It is spitting rain out there, so the weather may well take the decision out of my hands. Probably allowing the leg to rest is the best thing anyway, tomorrow is another day
