[Tri Girl]

OH. MY. GOSH. I am soooo with you.
I LOVE my job. I would NEVER want to do anything else, but the last month of school is torture. They've checked out and it's like pulling teeth to get them to behave and listen- let alone LEARN anything. Even the good ones are gone. I've been teaching for 13 years and I have LOTS of tricks in my bag, but it's difficult at best to maintain control this time of year.

I feel your pain, V. I got a hot fudge sundae on the way home- and that is not going to make me feel like running later like I need to, but I DON'T CARE TODAY!! grrrrrrrrrrr....

We have Field Day the last week of school, and I'm holding that over their heads. They misbehave during the month of May, the regular punishments don't apply- they lose 10 min. off of Field Day for every time they get in trouble. That's about the only thing that works to keep them in line (they ALL love Field Day). I hate holding things over their heads, but I gotta do what I gotta do.
Oh- and I'm a "specials" teacher (library) so they are normally out of control when they come see me twice a week anyway- it's just extra special this time of year.

We have 13 more days with them. I'm praying I come out of it alive.
