A while back I got this hat from Bicyclista - it's a beauty and quite functional, but I just inherited a Smartwool beanie that matches my jackets better. Ah vanity!
I wore it twice and then handwashed/air dried it. Color is a merlot - more a dark red than purple.
It's nice & thin - easy to stuff in a pocket for a cool day or after you warm up. it's also thin enough to wear under a helmet if you have the adjustable type. Still merino wool warm though!
