This actually happened to me (except that it was a bikini brief, not a thong, and it was black) but I noticed it was missing and ran back just as a colleague was about to pick it up!!!! At least it was clean.
Then wouldn't she have had it ON after changing out of her bike clothes and running in her work clothes to her desk with her bike clothes in her arms?

I know I certainly notice whether or not I've got my underwear on as I'm headed toward my office after my bike commute.
