Good morning! I just signed up for my first multi sport event in a few years. I completed a triathlon in 07 and signed up for the Philly Women's Duathlon in July. I am so motivated to train and I am just very excited about the whole thing. The problem is my twice a week strength training sessions are killing me. After each one I feel like I walk away with a new issue that needs to be nursed. I never have this issue with my running, swimming or biking. I have tried talking to my trainer, but after this last issue I know it is time to end the relationship. Which brings me to my question, after getting checked out by my doctor (just being cautious, I am really focusing on doing this the right way), I want to go back to incorporating yoga and pilates into my program. Has anyone successfully trained and competed in triathlons and duathlons just doing those two activities for strength work? Any guidance, advice, words of wisdom will be appreciated.
