Howdy everyone. Has anyone ever purchased a pair of shorts with a defective chamois? I got a new pair of Sugoi Evolution shorts the other day, and I love them. There's one small problem, and I am trying to figure out if it's something I can solve, or if I can take the shorts back. It kind of seems like anyone would have this problem with this particular pair of shorts (not every pair of evolutions...read on)

Yesterday when I was riding for the first time in the shorts, I felt a sharpish prick where the upper chamois contacted my derriere. It wasn't the part I was sitting on at all, it was about 2 or 3 inches up. i swatted at it and kind of forgot it was there, and rode for ~3h total. When I got home and got in the shower, that little spot had rubbed raw!!

When I inspected the chamois, I noticed a little spot where the soft fabric cover doesn't overlap the chamois completely, just on that one side. That's the only thing I can find that's wrong! My sore is in just the same spot, so I think this is the problem. Is this a manufacturer defect? or can I slather on some saddle sore balm and never worry about it again? I think I might need to take the shorts back...I don't actually think balming will work. Has anyone ever had this problem before? It's kind of embarrassing to say to the shop guys it chaffed my bum! but i really like these shorts otherwise! any advice would be appreciated!!
