8/22 rides
We have sorely needed rain heading in (actually pouring now) and will last through Tuesday. So, despite waking up with my sinuses screaming, asthma acting up a bit, and my body generally angry at me for all of the hiking it's not used to on my vacation, DH and i headed out to do our shortest short loop this morning. It started sprinkling on the way back, so I am glad we went then.
The ride is 8.25 miles and starts off with a climb up Strawberry Hill. DH was pushing it and I stayed pretty close to him until we got to the final climb, which I treat as a cool down (albeit one with a 10-15% grade). My average was 16, when I got to the final climb, which is a number I have not seen all season. I usually don't obsess on my speed, but I knew I was riding faster than usual.
Going to rest over the next 2 days, with some yoga and maybe a walk/jog on the treadmill.
