Isn't that incredible when this happens? I lost my giant schnauzer a month shy of his forth birthday to cancer. He was my heart dog....

Funny thing is that our current dog was dropped off at the breeders the same day as we put Milo down. A week later, the breeder (my friend) called to tentatively ask if we'd be interested in him. He had some behavioral issues (mostly due to the previous owners inability to handle a very dominate dog) and she wanted someone who she knew could handle him. We said yes, and we've now had him for almost 6 yrs. He certainly would have been put down had he gone anywhere else. He came really close to it even at my house. A 90 lb dog who bites is rough. Turns out, he had thyroid issues along with the behavioral. once we got this corrected, the behavioral ones where easier to deal with. 6 yrs later, no one would believe how naughty he was when we got him.

I truly believe that our first giant schnauzer led our second one here because he knew that he would be taken care of...

Enjoy your new kitty. Sometimes it is not easy when you get a new pet so close to when a loved pet passes, but it is worth it in the end!
