Hi Marni,

We just moved too, and it's really an ordeal, isn't it? I definitely feel your pain, though we moved a lot less than you, thank heavens! We'd sold (ebay and craigslist) a ton of stuff ahead of time, had a garage sale last summer, donated load after load to Goodwill, books to the library, given stuff to my mom, etc. to downsize from a 4BR house with a 2-car garage, attic, huge workshop, and garden shed to a 2BR apartment with no garage or storage shed (the second BR is our storage shed!) We stored a small amount of stuff at my mom's, so all we had to move into the apartment was furniture, about 25 boxes of "stuff" (mostly kitchen items and electronics), clothing, and houseplants. Oh, and our four bikes, of course! Not too bad. We did it all in a week all by ourselves (it was a local move). The only thing that just about defeated us was the queen-sized mattress, which was a real comedy hauling up the stairs to the third floor, but we finally got it without any loss of life or blood. The mattress is a bit worse for the wear, but it wasn't brand new, thankfully.

Good luck to you in your new home and in finding everything that is currently missing! Since we didn't have all that much to unpack, we got settled in in a week, and it sure feels good to be to this point. Starting to ride again too after having to take some time off during the move prep and move.

Have fun!
