Yesterday I rode from northeast end to southwest end of Toronto through a route that goes through residential areas, interconnected ravin park bike routes and along a lakefront, etc. It is about 25 kms. one way but it's been over 10 years I've done this route in its entirety since I moved to VAncouver to live.
A slow ride because I was loaded down with 4 panniers and parts of route was rutted with leftover soil and sand due to flooding.
But brought back many memories...it was a route I used to do often on weekends with a round trip loop, parts I used for different bike commute routes to different employers located in different parts of Toronto. It was a route where I started off when I returned to cycling as an adult over 17 yrs. ago.
route where my dearie helped me improve my cycling skills when I first knew him.
It is a touchstone bike route. The memory of every corner, bump and turn came back to me since the route intersects several other bike routes. The ride was pleasant, but also abit more emotional for me than expected.
