First real ride on LHT OR Fitters ROCK

Though my LHT had 47 miles on it today when I got on it, I consider today have been the first time that I have really been able to actually ride my lovely blue steel steed.

17.5 miles of nothing but hills in the park (as much as possible). Am in love with the bike once again! Pain is gone. Knees feel great. Twitchy steering is outta here!

Was even able to finally signal, and ride with just my right hand for several hundred feet for the very first time. My heart rate didn't get as high as climbing hills with the Trek, and my average speed was only 1 mile slower though I was focusing more on climbing hills and shifting rather than speed.

Now I am faced with the decision of which bike to take on a 25 mile social club ride tomorrow... Stella (Trek 7.6) is a little faster and is a flat-bar road bike, but I learned today that I am far more confident on the LHT and can do things on it that I am just not comfortable enough to do on the Trek. I have <70 miles on the LHT and >300 on the Trek - and I am more confident on the LHT...it has got to be the fit that makes the difference.

Fitters, indeed, rock! If it hadn't been for the fitter at my new LBS, I don't know that I would have ever been able to truly ride my lovely Long Haul Trucker! He did an excellent job, and am so thankful that my expensive gamble paid off!
