The kid, who goes to school in the Berkshires, got home last night. He was pretty surprised when he looked out back at the patio table; there's still a good foot or so of snow on it. Even getting out of the car and to a door was tricky, as, because I [strikeout]am a lazy @ss[/strikeout] was exhausted from so much shoveling, I didn't clear the entire driveway; he could get to the kitchen door, and I could get to the front door, but we couldn't both use the same door without one of us having to walk through snow.
Oh, and get this... he has TWO warm coats at school, one of them a down jacket. AND snow boots. I had told him to make sure to wear a warm coat and his boots home. (He has to walk a couple of miles to catch the bus home, and wait outside at the stop until the bus gets there. Only one a day, so he needs to be there a bit early.) He showed up in a hoodieand sneakers. A hoodie. He was wearing a short-sleeved tee shirt under it.
It was 9°F here this morning. Will be an interesting semester break!
