The girl friends and I drove out to Amish country (Lancaster PA) today and did a 52 mile loop. I'd broken a shifter cable at the end of our ride Wednesday and though I got a new cable it hasn't yet been installed on my road ride "Lucille Bike" so I took my cross bike "Ethel". Five miles into the ride in a 15 mph headwind, I was thinking that maybe I should have stayed home, but it wasn't too long before I'd gotten over the shock of an extra 10 pounds, the rolling resistance of my knobbies, and my upright position (from the straight bars) catching the wind. Had a great time. My legs are tired but happy. Just goes to show how addicted I am.
