In the end I wasn't able to find the Dolce Comp Triple at any local shop. But last weekend I ended up test riding a Giant Avail 1, and liking it equally well. Since I'm impatient I went for the bike in the hand and snapped that one up. Inventory problems on that one as well, they weren't sure if there Giant had any small frames left, but there was one at another shop in the chain. Picked it up yesterday.

And Laphmore, as to your original question as to whether a road triple was enough on the hills, my old bike was a hybrid with mountain bike gearing. So I lost a couple of easy gears moving from the hybrid to a road triple. As I'm over 200 pounds I was worried about that, but when I went out for my first ride in my hilly neighborhood I didn't really notice the loss of the easy gears and riding up the hills was almost a breeze. Definately could feel the difference with a lighter bike and thinner tires.

Edit: Just got a call from my local Specialized shop that the 2010 Dolce Comps were now available. Isn't that always the way it works.
