Well, this turned into a good thread! I also follow on your left with "thank you" or "good morning" to encourage a positive attitude towards cyclists. I keep threatening to put a bell on my road bike, because it works great for clueless people and geeseOf course, as mentioned, "on your left" doesn't mean MOVE.
Yes, men frequently "pick up their pace" when I pass. I'm prepared for that and make sure that I have more than enough ability to complete the manuever. I don't give them a chance to do it a second time
