Woohoo! New Bike!

I can't believe I did it. I have a perfectly fine Trek 2.3 WSD 47 cm that is a little over a year old. I like the bike, but I've never been 100% comfortable on it -- the only way I can describe it is a feeling of being "cramped". I've also had some hand/wrist and arm soreness during and after rides. I recently saw some photos of myself riding down a hill and thought I looked like I was too big for the bike. I'm only a little over 5' tall and I have pretty short arms and legs and very small hands, so a 47 cm seemed a reasonable size for me. I've had several fittings on the 2.3, but none of them ever suggested the bike was too small for me.

I started thinking I might feel more comfortable on a little bit bigger bike. So, my LBS let me take out a Trek Madone 4.7 WSD in a 50 cm. They put my pedals on it, and off I went. OMG! I could not believe the difference. I felt immediately like I had come home !! It is so comfortable, and of course an upgrade in lots of ways from the 2.3.

Anyway, she came home with me! I have to swap out the seat (cannot stand Bontrager!!) and get one of my beloved Selle San Marco Aspide Glamour seats in White. I'll have to get my Speedplay Light Action Pedals in White or Silver and I'm thinking about white shoes.

I don't usually name my bike, but she's so purty, I may have to... I'm thinking "Angel" because riding her is heavenly!
