I had both my daughters in a very good hospital in Puerto Rico 27 and 30 years ago.
I was treated like a freak when I insisted on breastfeeding, and I had to really get tough to make them bring my babies to me every 2 hours to feed instead of waiting 4 hours like 'normal'. They said I probably didn't have enough milk (even though I was BURSTING with it). They also kept wanting to feed them glucose water in bottles- when I told them NO to that, they argued that my babies might get dehydrated if they didn't drink the sugar water bottles. !!! They tried to make me feel backwards and barbaric and unfit. Imagine!! Glad I stuck to my guns.
