Sometimes there ARE perks to small town life
I took my Nishiki mixte to the store today. Basket on the front, and just threw my wallet and keys in it. I never lock my bike up in front of the store. Everyone knows it's mine and in all of the years I've lived in this town, no one has ever touched my bike. I did have some stuff from Dollar General in my grocery panniers, but knew it would be safe. Always is.
Anyway, I was shopping for about half an hour, had an armload of groceries and went to check out. I realized that I had left my wallet in the basket in plain site in front of the store, propped up against the front window. Even in Belle, I couldn't believe that I did that. I ran out to check and naturally, my wallet and keys were fine and untouched. Another thing, no one in line behind me even complained that I had to go outside and retrieve my wallet. They just smiled. When I start complaining about small town life, I guess I need to remember this.
