I actually think the 4 sided entry makes for uneven release, DH concurs (he currently rides Smarties because they were stock on his bike). Sometimes you pop right out (or right in) others you really have to work at it. We both think there is uneven tension based on which one of the 4 you get. I think I am going to steal him Time Atacs to try and let him have my Candies for his commuter because the platform is nice for commuting and the yellow will look cool on his Kona Jake. Right now though I am struggling with running aches and pains, I haven't had much energy or desire to go to the trails.

I have heard Speedplay products can be tricky if you are lightweight (at least road). I am not super light (at 146) but I am unable to exert much force into unclipping and you aren't lying about neuro problems coming into play. My tremors are still out of whack since we are trying different meds and some days it is like having an alien along on the bike, those are fun days to ride clipless.
