Rode the usual 20 with BF and I hung back with him for 2/3 of the ride before going on ahead. His temp reading said 104! Average speed 17.7 mph with very strong winds as there was a storm approaching.
ETA: And speaking of dogs, there is a blue heeler that loves to stalk us and the owners of the dog just stand there and watch. Other riders have told me that the same thing happens. I am tempted to carry pepper spray or something to deter this bad habit!
