Big Dummy on the road!

Here is a pic of my new Surly Big Dummy, after my first trip to the grocery store on it. That's a bag of charcoal in the bag . . . and lots of other stuff, too!

It is very strange to ride so upright, and not very efficient but it got the job done. The gearing is almost the same as on my Volpe which is nice. I made the mistake or riding this baby home in sandals -- it would have been much easier clipped in on the hills. (Actually, riding anywhere not clipped seems weird now).

So, tomorrow to the nursery to get some potted plants for the patio!

My Brooks saddle is not yet on it and the front wheel will be replaced with a 36-spoke wheel, but so far so good!
