Wanted 50 miles. Got 23. Sleet, heavy rain, heavy winds. 6mph on flat road. Blown off bike. Took me 2-1/2 hours to go 23 miles (not including bike cleaning time afterwards
)!
Despite the torrent, I was all set to repeat my out and back to get the 50, but the whole blown-off-the-bike thing and fighting so hard to stay on the bike made me wuss out.
I was thinking, geez, it really is starting to kick up! Then, I turned a corner onto a section of road on a bluff over the ocean, and I realized that the whole entire inner harbor was completely roiling in white foam and breaking waves. I was wishing I had a digital camera. It was like, "Wow, no wonder this ride has been feeling tough!"
