More likely a testimony to, oh, subject heading challenges and just how popular this thing is!

It is, in fact, a direct steal from Right Here in Shampoo-Banana. That attention movie has been circulating - not too widely, though, and with all kinds of copyright warnings on its website.
http://www.viscog.com/ is the commercial location for the materials. From the bikebiz site: "In fact, the idea was first filmed in 1999 by Professor Daniel Simons of the University of Illinois. It’s sold as a DVD instructional video by Viscog Productions of the US.

BikeBiz.com has talked to Professor Simons. He's upset the ad producers didn't approach him for his blessings. He told BikeBiz he would not have requested a fee." http://www.bikebiz.com/news/29436/Tf...d-is-a-rip-off (Frankly, I wouldn't have thought that based on all the warnings.)

He also said he'd have helped them design something a little more original (snork!) and more attuned to bicycling. Perhaps some version of this little clip, where viewers are highly unlikely to notice something gonig on further away from the center line, which would be rather pertinent to explaining the importance of lane position. See: http://viscog.beckman.uiuc.edu/djs_lab/demos.html and look at the very last group of videos.
