86 miles into last week's ride my Polar decided my HR was 120 beats. It read like that for the next 80 miles. I thought maybe I was somehow getting interference from my light. I have a generator hub and I leave the light on all the time. Of course I couldn't figure out why it would suddenly start with the interference...

Anyway, a little test this morning shows it's the chest strap that's bad. Lying down on the floor, it still shows 120, Thom takes my pulse and it's 60. Fortunately, I have a second chest strap to use for tomorrow's 200K.

It seems like a weird symptom for batteries going bad though.
