Over on Beginner Triathlete I've challenged myself to swim 16,000m in January. Today I swam the first 2000m:
1000m in 20:47 (2:04.7/100m)
400m in 8:25 (2:04.25/100)
300m in 6:22 (2:07.33/100)
200m in 4:06 (2:03/100)
100m in 1:55
I'm stoked that I did the last 100m in under 2min! Negative splits rock!
Today's swim marks the first time I've done a workout with most of the swimming done as bilateral breathing: about 2-3 out of every 4 lengths during the first 1000m and the entire second 1000m. I felt faster and smoother stroking this way. I think I've passed the point of no return![]()
