I have a tiny little garage on my property that I originally intended to use for my Beetle*. But, it got invaded by bikes (six now, since I gave the matched-set Buicks to my son and his girlfriend). So I took the old paper type paneling off the ceiling of the garage, hung some rafter hooks up there and all the bikes hang from the rear wheel. We have a repair stand from Nashbar and my hubby built me a fine work bench with pegboard. (That all was my xmas present last year.)

*The Beetle got swept up by a street sweeper and the Element doesn't fit in the garage, so I have a bike garage instead!

I think a repair stand is necessary if you do your own work. Or you can be one with your bike, like Deb.
