Hey Denise (and all you other tri-studettes),
Got a question for you. I'm getting a tri bike. Oscar (my road bike set up as a tri bike) was good enough for my first IM and couple seasons of tris, but he's just not going to cut it anymore. With another IM on the near horizon, I'm ready to make the leap and buy a bike that was meant to go the distance with me. Oscar's just never fit completely right. I'm borrowing a Cervelo Dual right now and I'm in LOVE with the tri geometry and fit of the bike. The difference in the two bikes is night and day. I can keep up with DH and have such power on that tri bike. LOVE it!!!!
My question Denise is: you have a Seduza, right? What do you think of it??? We're about the same height, and close to the same size, so I was wanting to know what you thought of it. You're riding 650's right? I'm not quite ready to go that high calibur yet (full carbon frame), but am thinking of going with a QR Kilo or Felt. I definitely want carbon bars, fork, and seat post, but the rest is negotiable (of course I want ultegra or higher components). Don't want to spend more than $2000 for the bike itself and then I'll add and change stuff as I go. Already have 650c carbon racing wheels, which are incredible and responsive.
I've done my homework, and am just wanting to know from some tri bike owners how they like their bikes. Silly things like color matter to me, so the current Dual is out (yellow) as are some other bikes for their color schemes. There's an full carbon Orbea on ebay for $2400 in my size (48cm), and I'm seriously drooling over it...
Any input you can give is great. It's like buying a car without test driving it- that's the scary part for me. I know fit is all-important and will go with what fits me- but some unbiased reviews of other bikes is kinda what I'm after. I can read all the websites and they all say how wonderful their bikes are (duh!).
Thanks for any words of wisdom you can throw at me...![]()
