Bendix Brakes and Archie Comics

OK, this is gonna be a little out there.

As a kid, I was a big Archie reader. Always wanted Betty to get Archie and despised Veronica but I digress.
In the back of the comic book along with the x-ray specs and sea monkeys was always an ad for Bendix brakes. Bendix brakes had a red stripe down the center. I thought they must be great, never had them but would always notice if another bike did.
Parts lust at an early age. Good thing they didn't advertise Campy parts.

One other thing I recall, and can't find anyone else who does, are these hard shell plastic wigs from the Sears toy catalog. A set of three, blonde, brunette, and red.

Am I the only person who remembers these things?
I am so freaking old.
