My very first ride on a road bike was a success! I didn't fall, no flats. I did drop my water bottle though, and I saw two huge white swans, of all things! I talked to some people on the path who admired and praised the new ride, which was kinda fun. The wind out of the south was ugly, as usual. After my ride I went back to the bike shop. The crank was hitting the edge of the front derailleur when the chain was on the large ring and, I had them rotate the bars up a touch to bring the hoods up a little. It feels better to me that way. Unfortunately, the bike doesn't automatically go twenty miles per hour with little or no effort from me, but maybe that was expecting too much?
