    Casual shorts for biker butt/thighs

I despair of finding casual cotton shorts that fit my relatively small waist and relatively large butt/thighs and don't cost a gazillion bucks.

In a fit of pique, I finally bought a pair of men's Union Bay cargo shorts that I'd been coveting at Costco. $14. Not too bad.

    I got size 34, could probably have done fine with a size 32. (I'm a women's 12)

    Well, they are pretty cool.

With the droopy-drawer fashion the guys' shorts have a high enough waist to actually sit where I want just above the hip bones (not down at plumber's-butt level) while still having some breathing room. Since they are loose there isn't any binding at the hips or thighs.

The piece de resistance was adding two more belt loops (just strips of nylon webbing) mid-way between the center back belt loop and the next belt loops. That kept the excess fabric of the waist from bagging out and sagging down below my belt.

And they are just peachy on the bike!
