    Many of the Pilates move have roots in Yoga. Yoga can indeed be ralaxing, but it is very challenging. It strengthens the core muscles and uses your body weight to lengthen muscles and work muscles. I encourage you to give it a try. Patricia Walden has an excellent beginner video. If you think it will not be enough of a workout go straight for any Rodney Yee workouts-he rocks!

    I forgot to add, for me, Pilates is the more relaxing of the two. I do Stott Pilates and Windsor Pilates for relaxation and Yoga for strengthing.
