Ok, so I've lurked here long enough. Sorry. I'll try to join in from now on or stay away. I just seem to get sucked in.

Anyhooo......I'm unemployed again and BF is out of town for a week so I have far too much time on my hands. Should be busyily typing away on my thesis, but I'm not such a big fan of writing. So instead I keep checking TE for any new updates. Luckily you girls are very prolific typers...it's like having a big group of chatty girlfriends around.

Oh, and I went climbing today for the first time in a year. Sooo much fun!!! I love it! Despite my toes hurting and now my hands hurting!

    U.K.E. jumped in!

Last night was a positive frenzy of typing. Thread Drift is active, but I don't think it's ever moved that fast before. Glad to have you with us, UK! I loved climbing, but haven't done it for years. It does leave the hands sore.

I actually was in my own bed all night (that doesn't sound right...) I was on-call, but didn't get a single page. Some (rare) nights like that I just go to sleep and stay asleep. More often, like last night, I wake up at least once an hour to look at the clock and check my beeper. But who cares, because I was horizontal, at home, all night. Now I'm off to the hospital to do rounds, on 'til 10 AM. Later to the podiatrist, and then to play volleyball. I think I'll get a nap in, too. This is a "rest" day on my training schedule. VB doesn't count. Depending on nap quality, I may ride my bike to VB...or...maybe not. I am pretty bad at the "rest" days.

    God/G*d

So I brought up the question of writing God's name at work this morning. I was told that that (can't write it, because it's bad to erase it) was a superstition dating from 2000 BC, and if that were in fact a "rule," then how could God's name be written in the bible? And, in fact, "God" itself is just a title, not God's name, which is Jehovah. Which appears 7000 times in the bible.

    Interesting things to ponder.

CC - the thread is "how slow am I?" in Open Topic.

SB - Now that you've mentioned it, I remember the thin=unhealthy thread and the unpleasantness from a particular person. I sense a trend.

UK-E - Happy posting in thread drift. Like Lise said - we are not usually as prolific as last night. But hey - that was fun!

Nanci - good luck today. Sounds like it was a good thing you got a full night's sleep..

Lise - That doesn't sounds like much of a rest day to me.

Knotted - keep saving - the dream bike will always be there waiting for you!

    Grog - which saddle?

    Jones - Hi!

To all the lurkers out there - come join in the fun!

They _just_ made it legal to ship wine to Florida, woo hoo!!

The flame thread is "How Slow Am I" up in Open Topic.

OMG CC - that was perfect. That is exactly what the tortoise is thinking.

UK E out of the shadows.....

Yeah, I remember the thin=unhealthy series. Something I, too, will never have to worry about. My skeleton weighs about 140 lbs.

We should have a special Thread Drift Reunion ride somewhere. Let's plan it!!

    Nice one SK!

The PP is still snoring in bed. She is wiped out this week. Post camp and all. And she leaves at noon to spend most of the weekend in tahoe with a friend while we're off playing at the DR.

Man I wish we were in France.

I agree with the Thread Drift reunion.

We need a volunteer to organize it and there it will be.

I must say that the perspective of California pleases me so if a volunteer would emerge from there.......
