I didn't want to become a roadie cause I thought all those guys in those weird clothes were indeed too much for me! They just seemed to belong to their own world. No, never will I become one of them........13,015 miles and 3 yrs later.......

"All those guys in wierd clothes ..."

There's an ad on the local radio here these days, an ad for the local baseball team (Madison Mallards). The ad goes "Why is watching a Mallards game more fun than a ride on the bike trail? Two words: bike shorts. Tight, sweaty spandex. And you can't not look, because then you'll crash. Whereas ..." And then they say how women get more of a kick watching guys stand around a baseball diamond wearing knickers. What???? Not!!!! And apologies to my cousin-in-law Jim Gott here, who I'm sure was sexy in his baseball uniform, but come on! Check the red-bike-shorts sites and learn!
Half-marathon over. Sabbatical year over. It's back to "sacking shirt and oat cakes" as they say here.

    ummm...long post

    Well kids....

I had a bit of cafuffle last night with the yellow machine.

I was nicely into my ride when i stopped at some lights, felt the tire and noticed it was getting a bit soft. Thought nothing of it until i hit another bumpy patch and thought i'd stop at the top of a small hill not far away.

Parked my bike under a street lamp(this section is in a residential area but it's still dark) and thought "ok, i;ll do my best to pumo this stupid tyre up"...what i didn't know was that the pump i have isn't really suitable for the schraeder tube...ended taking all the air out..

Not what i needed..I knew i'd be there forever & would have to walk on home..7pm already...no idea how much time i had before my light would burn out...Decided to try the spare tyre & see if i'd get anywhere...nup..no luck...Ended up calling ian to come and get me...Managed a measly 14km...URGH.

Have new tubes & pump now.

Not my week really...tried to go to the pool this morning-even got up early (440am) as i should, got off the train and noticed it was quite dark in front of the station and down the road...poooeey...Western power was repairing the line...no street lights on near the pool...no pool lights on...no power..AHHGHRHRHGHH...Went home, had a shower & ventured to work....

Didn't go biking tonight (off road) as i already have two punctures on two diff bikes......what are the odds of having a third...hahah

That's hilarious. Adopting it as my new comeback
