    jersey fit

How snug should a jersey be? I tried on a few at the LBS and REI and while I normally wear a medium size shirt my lack of boobage causes huge gapping in the front on the medium jerseys accentuating my lack of mammary assets. The small ones fit snugly and don't seem too tight, but then I ended up not buying any because I wasn't sure how snug they were supposed to be. Any suggestions?

that all depends on YOU! i dont like my jerseys tight... but i don't want them hanging on me either....

racers typically like them tighter/snug.... recreation (and moutain biking) is typically a bit looser

just be sure to try them on... as different manufacturers have different sizing!

i wear a small in street clothes tops/blouses... but in some brands of cycling jerseys...i actually get mediums!

This is how I try on bike jerseys: Put it on and sit down. Slouch, just like your mother told you not to. Does it feel snug or uncomfortable at the hip, waist, or back? Bend foward at the waist and stretch your arms forward as if you were reaching for the hoods or the drops on a road bike. Does the jersey feel tight at the back, upper arms, or shoulders? Stand up and look at your back in the mirror. Hold your arms stretched out in front of you again, and then raise them over your head. Does the jersey look or feel tight in the back or shoulders? If it passes all these tests, it's a keeper.
