I like Zoot, too. It's short, intense, and never boring. Have to admit, the chick in the bathing suit still makes me cringe.

To get the greatest variety, I would chose either Have Mercy, "The Sequel" or Aero Base Builder V - The Compilation. He has this Have Mercy segmented nicely so that the source DVD & set are identified. Both are 2 hours long. I'm with V. though Zoot Challenge is my favorite. I am the only one in my group of riding friends who even likes this video.![]()

I almost never look at the video. I'm too busy watching my cadence and HR. And for some reason today, the huge drops of sweat.Originally Posted by mickchick

Thanks all, for the great replies! I checked ebay - you can't really get anything cheaper than Performance/Nashbar sale prices, and I'd rather have the security of ordering from them than some yahoo on ebay, kwim.
Okay, so, now how about...

I'm just happy to BE here.
I'd have to agree with others and say Have Mercy, although I haven't done the "Sequel" - I still need to buy it. I don't like No Slackers for some reason. Not sure why. Mental Toughness is another one that I really like (it's 90 min). There's one that should be coming out soon called the Hardcore Hundred that simulates a century ride. I think the taping was ~ 8 hours, but the final edited DVD should be maybe 6-7 hours long? That's a long time on the trainer!
So far I have taken one training spin class at the LBS but to tell you the truth I hated it.I just so want to be outside when I am on my bike. Do yall actually enjoy the riding with the tapes? Maybe I just need different motivation. I have had several people swear that 20 minutes a day on the trainer will help your ride immensely but I can't seem to make myself do it. Plus like I posted elsewhere it makes my bum hurt!

If you live in Wisconsin during the winter, you really have no choice but to ride on the trainer. I also like watching movies while I do long/easy rides. If your bum is hurting on the trainer, make sure you get out of the saddle every 10 minutes or so.Originally Posted by Waverly

What bike do you ride? Do you have a "trainer" bike, or are you actually comfortable putting your fave road bike on the trainer? Seems like you would chew through back tires...
I'm thinking I'll be on a trainer next winter - I whimped more this winter riding that I should have and it's kicking my rear end to get back out there on the roads....
Most days in life don't stand out, But life's about those days that will...
I usually put my tri bike on the trainer so I can stay comfortable on the aerobars during the winter and on longer sessions, I can relax better in the aerobars. I change out my back tire and use a cheap-o one that I got from Performance Bike (they found one in the back and I paid like $5 for it). I definitely don't use my good tires on the trainer!
My bike goes in and out of the trainer, depending on the weather and what I need to focus on that day. I leave whatever tires happen to be on it. Right now Continental 4000s.

My trainer eats tires like crazy! I get a big flat spot down the middle. I bought an extra low end wheel and threw on an old tire (that already had a big flat spot) and I use that on the trainer.Originally Posted by CA_in_NC
