    Campy brifters with Shimano drivetrain

I really dislike my Ultegra shifters and was wondering if you can use Campy brifters with Shimano components?

You bet! Go look for a Jtek Shiftmate. http://jtekengineering.com/shiftmate.htm

Works like a charm. I dislike the Shimano shifters also.

If it were me, I'd probably install friction downtube shifters. Guess I'm old fashioned, but never saw the advantage of indexing (well, it has advantages, but disadvantages too). Last year my husband's indexed Campy Chorus downtube shifter was no longer indexed properly in the middle gears, so I replaced it with friction shifters. Had to buy some off ebay - they don't exist in bike shops anymore.

Depends on how you want your bike to perform. Friction shifting can be great in certain circumstances and not so great in others. I'll never go back. I can shift on the fly when cranking up down rollers that need frequent shifting. Can't do that with downtube or bar end shifters. Small hands can have problems with bar ends in the situation described above. Just personal preference.

You look into repairing the Campy shifters? Campy parts can be rebuilt.
