Long story short, the doc walked in and saw her O2 sats (83) and took a listen to her heart and lungs... then he called an ambulance to transport her to the ER. She's in congestive heart failure.

She was admitted to the hospital, they've started a million tests and so far we have severe aortic stenosis, and a hemoglobin of 6.5 (12 is normal).

Looks like minimum of a valve replacement and possibly a bypass. If anyone has some positive vibes, good wishes, or prayers to spare, pass them our way.

    Dear self:
You know, perhaps beer and two smores (from two hours ago) do not make the best ride fuel, even if you were only riding the trainer.

Dear whatever is in charge of soup:
How exactly did all the sausage end up in this container and not in the one I was eating all of last week?

(((Pax & Mom))) Oh, wow. Sounds serious, but it's a good thing that you now have some information you can work with, and it sounds like you will probably learn more in the coming days? Thoughts and prayers headed your way.

    Dear not-my-baby,
Why did you decided to show up 6 weeks early, on the very day I decided I would cave and get a massage from your mommy? Now I'm stranded with no massage therapist/pilates teacher for 2-3 months! At least you're oh-so-cute and very healthy and the sweetest thing in the world...but wow you've made a dramatic entrance already!!

(P.S., if anyone here knows a good massage therapist in Denver, I'm open to suggestions!)

Jess, what a bummer, but glad your MT/pilates teacher and her baby are doing okay!

Take it for what it is -- a chance to see what you can do on your own for a little while, or to expand your horizons and see who else is out there .... I don't know what I would do if my MT were out of commission, but I do make a point of working out with different pilates instructors -- they all have their strengths and I think I'm better off for not sticking with one person.

    Dear local park organization:
Why did you have to come up with some really cool-looking jerseys, and have them at your event when I'm broke? They're cool-looking enough that I'd buy one even though they're unisex and have elastic at the bottom!

But you guys rock. How did you get Gary freaking-Fisher out here, anyway?

Thanks, I'm on a desperate hunt for classes outside of business hours! There is a lunchtime class at a local rec center that I think I could get away with for the time being. I'm just a little overwhelmed, because she has pretty much been my physical therapist since I "graduated" from the outpatient program with my surgeon. I thought I'd have a few more weeks to prepare We just gave her a baby gift the day before she gave birth!

    Dear Gas Repair Man,

For the first guy, you got the heat working. Thank you! Then it died an I had no heat again.

When the next guy came (Thank you for coming out after hours) he found one of the valves needs repaired and will order me one.

Between the two of you, my furnace is working. Now if you could fix the copper pipe from vibrating along the metal air duct it sits across, I will regain my sanity.

((((Pax & mom)))) hopefully now that the doctors know what is wrong, they can help your mom get well. Loads of good vibes your way!

Dear powers that be, training courses would be very welcome now. I know instinctively what will or will not fly in my classroom with my kids but I need the knowledge to justify why I will refuse to do an activity in the classroom. Instinct is not enough, I need good, solid knowledge to back up my arguments.

Pax, sorry to hear about your mom. How old is she? I hope her illness can be managed. When we found my grandmother had the same thing, we thought it was a death sentence. But it was not.

Ditto with my grandmother. Good luck Pax's mom!

    Dear Yoga facility,

I love you, but if you know ahead of time that you are going to cancel one of your "daily, 9 am" classes due to a retreat going on, wouldja mind putting up a sign, or something? Not only did I go this morning only to be turned away, but I also told another gal, and she also tried to go to meet me there.

Sigh...I love Belize, but there are some basic things about customer service they just don't "get".
