I rode Moab, many years ago. Hard. Also did Fruita CO two years ago. Horse Thief Bench was much more fun and just as hard. And in retrospect, the trails around Boise ID were just awesome. I had no idea about them but looming bad weather in Fruita drove me west for week two of my vacation and it was a great discovery. I will do Fruita again but am over Moab.

I also had Park City on my list back in the day and rode there back in the `90s. The altitude was tough on this sea level girl. Bend OR was also on my list, been there three times now and will go back again for the sweet single track. I would like to ride Ledville but there's that altitude again...

I've done the lower half multiple times, but not in years. Now that we live here we've been exploring the trails that we never had a chance to do on trips as well as all the fishing. Last year also we spent a lot of time in Eastern OR. Just branching out bits and pieces at a time.

Lime, if you do Leadville I'll totally come cheer I go watch every year.
I looked up the Maah Daah Hey Trail and it sounds intriguing...but it doesn't sound like it is actually maintained considering the location... Very interesting location however!

I camped at one end of it last summer. I'd been driving through plains for hours and hours and pulled into the campsite at around 11 pm - it was pitch black, and I could see far enough to put up the tent. I woke up the next morning in the middle of the badlands and the view was spectacular! But yeah, from what I understand, just a handful of people maintain it. It hasn't even been open for very long but the weather in that area combined with the soils doesn't really bode well for long term trail existence. Probably a better trail for horses

This is more of a "someday wishlist" and some are goals.

    • Hut to Hut Tour - Mount Hood
    • Hut to Hut - Colorado
    • Go true downhill riding, tasted a little bit in Angelfire but I want to take the lesson and go!
    • Earn my way to Cat 1 racing - preferably by winning the Cat 2 title!
    • Moab - Not sure how soon it will happen but it will
    • Mountain bike in Europe - not sure yet where but it looks impressive in Switzerland and France
    • 100 mile race - Maybe the Ouchita Challenge, key is it can't be super high altitude so no Leadville.

Oooh, those are some nice goals! I would love to try downhill riding too. I was thinking about a trip to Whistler . . .

John Wayne/Iron Horse Trail to Snoqualmie Pass, and if the tunnel doesn't freak me out, a ride through the tunnel.

I've had my sights set on Pisgah for a couple years now, ever since my dad moved to Knoxville, TN. I figure I can make a side trip out there one of the days I'm visiting.
*Rothrock SP near State College, PA
    *Gooseberry Mesa/Thunder Mtn in UT
    *Vietnam in MA
    *Transylvania Epic!!!!!

The only non-mtb item on my list is BRAT, which I might do in 2013...

Anyone planning on coming through Fruita/Grand Junction, send me a note. I don't mtn bike a lot, I'm kind of beginner/intermediate level (also called "chicken" level).
The road riding is pretty awesome here too.
