    Thanksgiving Rides Planned?

    To disable ads, please log-in.

Any riding planned for today? I am keeping a close eye on the weather and deciding if I will ride inside or outside today. I am tempted to wait until after dinner (which is at 1:30) and ride at 4 which is the warmest part of the day. Perhaps I won't eat too much if I know I am going to be getting on the bike later...

Our guests aren't arriving until 2:30 and we will eat at 4 or so. I am planning to ride around 11 for 1-2 hours. Everything is done, DH will set the timer for the oven to start cooking the turkey. The only thing that will stop me is the black ice that is out there now has not melted! It's 30 degrees now and will be in the 40s by 11. The key is that the sun is shining.

Sounds awesome! It is 40 degrees here now, but quite foggy and damp. I think that I am going to ride the trainer this morning, make cookies to take with me, and then ride for pleasure after dinner. It is supposed to be over 50 by 4:00, so hope to be on the bike shortly after 3:30 but will have to see. Tomorrow they are calling for 60 degrees, I will take it

This will be my first time on the bike outside in two weeks, so hoping to see some improvement with my neck!

Hoping for a two hour ride after I make another pie. Denver is having unseasonably warm weather so by 10 am, we're looking at 54 deg and 8 mph winds. Yeah!

    Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Yesterday my weather app said it was going to be over 50 by mid morning....now it says until noon. So I will wait maybe until 11:30 a.m.. My dinner is not until 4 and we ussually spend the rest of the evening with the family. So I will have to take it at least before 1:30.. plus I think they have NFL games all day long and I believe my fave team since I was a kid is playing today ....the SF 49ERS.

Catrin....lets see if one day the indy TE members could meet and ride together. It would be nice.

Did a nice beach and gravel road ride this morning - 12 miles. 80F and sunny. Ah Belize!

Not cooking -- we'll be eating dinner in town later. Even though Thanksgiving is not celebrated here, many of the restaurants are doing t-day dinners for the tourists and expats.

    Happy Thanksgiving all!

We did the flattest (not saying much) ride out the door, 16.5 miles. One small hill in the beginning and then the climb back up to my house. It was 38 when we started and 42 when we got home; I was overdressed, but my Gore jacket has pit zips, so between unzipping those, and unzipping the jacket and my mid layer, it was tolerable. It's very sunny out and there were lots of cyclists and runners out, doing the same thing as me!
Now to make myself look presentable. Turkey is almost done cooking.

I did a short ride outside today - 65 and sunny

I really love seeing the world at more of a stand still than usual - biking past closed businesses, etc. It's peaceful in a way.

(except for the person with an I Care (animal) license plate headed to the big vegan Thanksgiving who almost killed me with 2 other lanes available to her.)

Ride a mile for me! Feeling stronger by the minute, but not ready for the bike just yet. I'm pretty sure I'll be ready for Sat's lbs ride, though.

    Happy Thanksgiving!

No Thanksgiving celebration in my corner of the world, but appropriately enough - a lovely ride in to work today under clear skies for the first time in weeks, and a chatty pleasant ride home with a friend.

Ride plans were postponed by a trip to the ER for my husband who cut the top of his foot on a piece of broken glass (long story). But after he was stitched up and home again, I went out for 26 miles by myself. High 60's- 70 out, mostly cloudy skies. I rode up to the base of Mt. Lemmon and back, which put me past the 4400 mile mark for the year. Now on to cooking!

Just got back from a casual 37 with DH.
Now to clean up, call mom, and get the half-a-bird in the oven. We won't eat til 6 or so. Working on the post ride cheese and crackers (minus the cheese) right now.

Azfiddle, glad to hear your husband is ok - yikes!

After dinner I came home and went for a ride outside Only 10 miles before my body started telling me it was time to stop...but that is further than I got last time, I will take it! I DID get 12 miles on the trainer this morning but that isn't the same. I really miss my long rides, but that will come back in time if I am patient.

Even if I didn't get much further than last time I could tell quite a difference in how I felt, I think the whiplash is healing I COULD have pushed it further, and at one time I would have, but why take the risk? Healing properly now = much more rides and smiles later

We just got back from our regular 3 mile ride. Yes, I know it's short, but you have to start somewhere and I'm now at the point of just one break on the 3 mile ride. (Had been two breaks). So I'm getting better and eventually will be able to start adding another mile to it.
